Stroke survivor gives back
Stroke Survivor Lori Wright of Henderson is helping other stroke survivors realize their potential and the fact that there is life after a stroke. Since rehabilitating from her stroke in 1999, Lori has become a dedicated volunteer of the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association. She works as a ShareGiver at two local hospitals and stays in touch with stroke victors after they are released from the hospital. The ShareGivers Peer Visitor Program connects stroke survivors who are at least 18 months post-stroke with recent stroke patients to provide support, information and encouragement. Read more.
Study finds secondhand smoke raises health risk in teens
